"A site that concentrates on Lincoln City and it's immediate attractions"
Our site concentrates on the atmospheric City of Lincoln and it's immediate attractions.
Relatively small but delightful and enchanting, the City of Lincoln has, in recent
years, developed into a major UK tourist centre.
Steeped in history, much of it dating back to Roman times, perhaps the best-known
attraction and landmark is Lincoln Cathedral along with the Castle and Steep Hill
but beyond that our wonderful city boasts the very fine medieval Bailgate area with
its varied and interesting range of shops, restaurants, bars, cafés and hotels.
Here are a wide variety of restaurants ranging from an original English pie shop
to exotic Thai and Mexican cuisine.
Downhill, the very popular Brayford Pool is where to promenade, take a boat trip
or simply sit, people watching, outside a new restaurant or bar - just another of
the many interesting places to visit in our lovely City of Lincoln.
Do come and explore for yourself!

Events & Attractions
Of course, your interests may lay elsewhere – maybe a rock concert or solo performer?
If so bear in mind that some well known names have recently started appearing at
the Engine Shed and the Drill Hall – and there’s sure to be more to come!
As a user of this Guide, our hope and expectation is that you will find something
to suit your taste – from fine accommodation to anything from a friendly pub, to
a theatre. It is our aim to constantly add to and update our Guide so if you have
an event or attraction that you wish to promote please call our office on the above
number.
Lincoln recently had the pleasure of acting host to several moviemakers, notably
the filming of The Da Vinci Code, some scenes actually being filmed in the Cathedral.
The Collection, of which the Usher Gallery is now a part, is also an important attraction.
Housed in a recently opened, purpose-built venue, it currently contains over 2,000,000
objects. Much of the material from official archaeological excavations in Lincolnshire
is eventually deposited in The Collection thus it is growing all the time. Other
attractions include the Museum of Lincolnshire Life and The Sir Joseph Banks Conservatory
at The Lawns, adjacent to Lincoln Castle.
